Growth Decoded: Thought Leadership [Video Interview]
In the season premiere of “Growth Decoded,” Ernie Santeralli of ActiveCampaign interviewed folks at Content Marketing World including me, Jay Baer, Ann Handley, Rachel Mann, John Jantsch, Melanie Deziel and more. It was a fun and dynamic conversation.
In it, I say things like:
‘Point of view’ is less important to me than ‘what is your credibility?’ And ‘what is your authority?’ How do you show people that you are trustworthy in your space, as somebody who can speak about this issue credibly and demonstrate that? I have a lot of clients in technology in financial services and regulated industries, health care, higher education—these are places where a lot of people think, ‘Yes, we have to be out in front, with our CEO, our CMO, our CFO, telling people, what matters.’
My question is: can those people actually break down important things for the audience in a way that allows the audience to take action? Because if they can do that in a really credible way, and be a really great teacher, explainer, synthesizer—that can be the “point of view” that they’re actually coming to the table with. And that can be really valuable.
