Homemade Burgers: A Summer Must-Have
Whenever we hit the summer season, I get a serious craving for burgers. Cooking burgers (either on the stove our outdoors on a grill) is not difficult. Neither is making the patties from scratch.
I like to serve my burgers with the classic condiments, sometimes cheese, definitely lettuce and tomato. Sometimes I dress them up with caramelized onions, bleu cheese, harissa, or even Sriracha.
Here’s my go-to easy-to-scale recipe for making your own burger patties:
Classic Burger Patties1 lb. ground beef (I like a mix of sirloin and chuck for fat content) 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp hot sauce 2 tsp thyme (fresh or dried A few cracks of freshly ground pepper A pinch of saltCombine all of the ingredients. Divide into 4 even balls, press into 1 inch patties. Place between sheets of parchment paper if you’re not going to cook them immediately. Serves 4. |
