When I first moved into this apartment, I was faced with a weird wall in my kitchen that had power sockets right in the middle of it. It was as if they had perhaps planned on running the counter across the wall, but instead, “Hey, skip it and save money. Who needs extra counter space?” So, one of the first things I did was think about how I could cover it up so it would be less of an eyesore (since there were sockets other more useful places anyway.
In the past, I’ve covered inexpensive canvases (from the art supply store) with interesting fabrics to use as decorations, so I returned to this easy solution. Therefore, I selected 4 coordinating, but not matchy-matchy fabrics and wrapped away! (The sockets are behind the green one.)
For the holidays, as most people do, I get lots of lovely cards. This year’s solution for displaying them? Adapting one of the canvases with a little yarn and safety pins!
