Yes, Yes, Another Variation on Veggie Burgers
In case you haven’t already figured this out, I love food. I love cooking it and I love eat it. I’m always looking for ways to improve upon flavors and textures, so even though I’ve written about veggie burgers here, here, and here, I want to share with you a new iteration.
This time, I followed this recipe from FatFreeVegan, which is currently a favorite site for vegan cooking ideas, and I’m pretty pleased with the results. It has a more savory flavor due to the mushrooms, which also act as a surprisingly powerful binder. I also like that the patties are baked and therefore have a little bit of a toothsome bite.
In case you were wondering about the serving suggestions, that’s a whole wheat bun, beet caviar, and my French-inspired carrot salad.
These are the patties pre-baking. They come out looking a bit darker and more like beef buns, which is good for people who like a particular look to their burgers.
Hope you’ll try this recipe out this summer grilling season.
