Terrific on Tuesdays: Games (and Other Entertainment) at a Party

foodie_fightI’m a big proponent of having some kind of activities or games at a party. Whether you’re grilling, serving cocktails, or just having people gather for a meal, I think that if the group is a mix of your friends who many not know each other very well, it can be a great help to have some kind of activity for people to break the ice, create camaraderie, and give purpose. I’m a fan of board games (card-based games etc. are also acceptable) as a quick way to inject a little lighthearted, low-commitment fun into an event.

For Christmas, a friend of mine got me Foodie Fight, and recently, a bunch of friends and I played it for the first time. As you might imagine, it’s a food-related trivia game. But it’s got a nice assortment of difficult and easy trivia questions, so that even non-food connoisseurs have a fight chance. In fact, in our group, it was the self-professed know-nothing who won. I’d definitely recommend this set.
