Terrific on Tuesdays: Low-Key Food Blog & Local Food Stop

This weekend, I had friends over for some dinner-making, so I’m feeling particularly excited about the amazing things that you can make with/for/inspired by other people. Therefore, today’s ToT is all about food.

A food blog I’ve recently discovered: Dispatches from Whitcomb Street
Like myself, Eunny Jang has a day job in the world of yarn. (Aside: There must be some kind of correlation with people who like yarn and people who like to cook, because I know so many of us who enjoy both. Maybe it’s the hand-made aspect of these arts. Maybe we’re just control freaks, who have to do everything ourselves.) With gorgeous photos and useful suggestions, Dispatches is one blog that I really enjoy following. Reading it, I often find myself picking up tips and tricks.

A local store I’ve recently discovered: Court Street Grocers
CSG opened some time last year, just a few blocks from my house, making it a convenient place to drop in for a freshly made sandwich, or some random fixings. In addition to having some seating for their sandwiches and coffee, the grocery section has quite a selection of goodies packed into a small space. They have my favorite Ceci Cela apricot danishes, as well as goodies like mangalitsa lardo, fancy kimchi, and locally made bitters. Local? Follow them on Twitter for updates on what’s in-store.
